Timber Cladding Fencing Boards
Our fencing board and cladding section currently has four different profiles and designs that can be used to create the perfect, rustic but contemporary design for your gardens. These timbers are long lasting, and pressure treated to ensure rot resistance and sustain the harsh English weathers for years to come. In terms of the profiles we offer, we have a tongue and groove board, featheredge boards, 6”x1” and 4”x1” boards available covering a range of options and ideas. These boards are of great quality, producing an extremely high-quality finish with small defects such as open grains and small knots adding to the character and charm. All boards can be installed easily due to the lightweight features and straightforward process of securing each board onto the horizontal rails or cavities using either 50mm nails or Tongue-Tite® Plus screws. Available in various sizes, make sure to check out each of our fencing cladding boards individually to see which one would suit you the best.
There are no secrets that featheredge cladding is the most cost-effective way of cladding your buildings and creating the overlapping design that so many people want. It is normally fitted horizontally with the thin tapered side of the board overlapping the thicker side of another board and so on, creating a durable structure that is watertight and windproof. However, it can be installed vertically if wanted, but this will need to be thought of before installing the rails as they will need to be perpendicular to the boards. In terms of the timber species used, the boards are a spruce/larch mix that has been pressure treated using a green tanalith pressure treatment with a rough sawn finish. Individual boards are 150mm wide and cut on an angle from 22mm boards creating a tapered cross section that will vary from 15mm down to 7mm.
6”x1” and 4”x1” Softwood timber is a diverse and adaptable timber that can be used for a vast number of different projects. The profile of the boards is very simple but creates a modern and current design that will last for many years to come. In many projects, a small gap between each board is present to cover more surface area whilst also giving the building a contemporary feel. These boards are pressure treated using a Green Tanalith pressure treatment and therefore long-lasting and rot resistant. These boards are perfect for fencing providing privacy, and protection whilst creating sturdy borders for your garden.
Finally, we have tongue and groove fencing boards which create a watertight and durable border for your gardens. Planed and treated using a green tanalith pressure treatment, these boards look great and are ready to battle the harsh UK weathers. When interlocked and fitted together, tongue and groove creates a uniformed, streamlined look with small shadow gaps in between each board adding to the design. The boards fit together through an interlocking system, with numerous boards joining together securely to make a combined surface, adding security and privacy to your gardens. If suitable and you don't want to put each board up individually, take a look at our tongue and groove fencing panels that we offer here at Ruby.
Please do take a look at each of our fencing boards individually before making a decision. They all have different properties, designs and installed slightly differently so one may be more suitable for you than another. We hope this has helped but if you have any more questions or queries, don't hesitate to contact our sales team on 01409231763 and they will be happy to help.
