Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Ruby. We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously, and in turn, this guides everything we do; from the materials we use, to the way we deliver products. Ruby is committed to driving meaningful change across the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda.

Sustainability in Operation

At Ruby we take great pride in ensuring our waste is kept to an absolute minimum. All our dispatched products are packaged in a way that minimises waste, protects our items and is fully recyclable. 

Internally we recycle all incoming packaging and timber waste where able, including paper, plastic and metal, all timber chippings and sawdust, even the wrapping tape we use is 100% recyclable. 

We utilise a combination of carefully selected 3rd party logisitcs companies and our own delivery service to improve logistics management, reduce the distance between deliveries and ultimately mitigate needless emissions. 

As a business we take the sourcing of timber very seriously therefore we prioritise FSC or PEFC certified suppliers where ever possible and we do not destroy damaged or unusable timber. 

We are also in the process of establishing key partnerships with major tree and sea grass planting organisations to offset our total carbon emissions and approach a goal of Net Zero.

This is also a key focus of our environmental pledge, ensuring our online commitment to the planet matches that of our physical business is of the utmost importance.
