Part of our ironmongery collection is our drop bolts perfect for securing gates by anchoring them to the ground. The drop bolt is situated at the bottom of the gate, and when necessary, the long bolt is dropped down into a small whole in the ground. This stops any movement of the gate keeping it either closed or open. If you have two gates closing together, a dop bolt may be required to keep both gates closed right next to each other as one gate is bolted down and then both gates attached to each other. All our products have been checked by our quality control team before being dispatched ensuring only the best products are delivered.
Here at Ruby, we have one specific type of drop bolt available to purchase; this is because there is limited purposes of it and so its uses and variants are similar. Our drop bolt can be bought in either a galvanised or epoxy black finish; both of which have been hot dipped galvanised to ensure the drop bolt is vigorous and withstands against the harsh English weathers. The drop bolt is 18” long to ensure the gate is secured and the bolt is far enough into the ground. As well as our single drop bolt, we can also offer a double gate latch set which includes a drop bolt and throwover loop. This set is perfect for when you have two gates closing together. Briefly mentioned earlier, when two gates close together, a drop bolt is needed to secure one gate and then the throwover loop can be used to fasten the two gates together. These can be brought in either a galvanised or epoxy black finish.
Make sure to check out all our other accessory range including hinges, latches and posts to help with the instalment process of your gates. Our drop bolt is definitely a good option when having two gates that close together. Hopefully this information has helped you and increases your options for future reference.
