Description

This Diamond Brace Gate offers a traditional 6-bar design made from strong, pressure-treated Larch/Douglas Fir offering toughness and weather resistance, making the gate durable in outdoor conditions. Built by our team in Devon, this gate is designed for long-lasting performance.

A key feature of this gate is the 100mm x 75mm top rail, which provides strength. Smaller sizes are made with a diagonal cross brace, while all larger sizes feature a diamond brace for added rigidity and balanced support across the frame. This ensures every size performs well, holding its shape and standing up to daily use. If you need a bespoke size, we can manufacture your gate to order.

FAQs
Product
What are farm/field gates used for?

Farm or field gates are typically used to secure agricultural land, paddocks, and livestock enclosures. They provide controlled access while allowing visibility and ventilation.

Is your Diamond Brace Field Gate treated?

This gate is pressure-treated with Tanalith E treatment, for enhanced protection against the elements

What is your Diamond Brace Field Gate made from?

Our Diamond Brace gate is made from a high quality Larch/Douglas Fir mix.

Do you make bespoke/custom size gates?

Absolutely! You can click on the 'Order Bespoke' button on our listings and enter your dimensions for a price, or you can contact our friendly Sales team on 01409 231763 or sales@ruby-group.co.uk or on our Live Chat!

Usage
Do you farm gates arrive with fixings and posts?

No, these will need to be purchased with your field gate.

Can I paint my gate?

You can! You can only use water-based paint on our gates, however, and you will need to ensure the gate is as dry as possible before painting. We do recommend applying UV protection to the gate prior to painting also.

Can I use a field gate on a sloped surface?

Yes, field gates can be installed on sloped ground, but you may need to adjust the gate height or use custom hinges to ensure smooth operation and clearance over uneven terrain.

What is the lifespan of a timber field gate?

With proper maintenance, timber field gates can last 15 to 30+ years or more, depending on the material (softwood or hardwood) and the level of exposure to the elements.

How often do I need to treat my gate?

We strongly recommend treating your garden gate with UV protection at least every 12 months, when the gate is dry. This is to protect your gate against weather related issues such as warping, twists etc. If you are signed up to our email marketing, you will receive a yearly reminder of this!

Installation
Do I need a throwover loop for double gates?

Yes, throwover loops are recommended for double field gates. They secure both sides of the gate, preventing them from swinging open and ensuring proper alignment when closed.

What hinges and posts do I need for this gate?

If you select the sizes you require, underneath the measurements you will find the suggested hinges and posts for your gate. Simply click 'Add to cart'.
