Product Description
Description

The Croyde Scandinavian Redwood Mortise & Tenon 3/4 Split Driveway Gate Pair is handcrafted right here in Devon by our talented team of joiners. Designed as a pair, it features one larger main gate (¾ width) and a smaller companion gate (¼ width). Each gate is made using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, providing strength and long-lasting stability.

Made from Scandinavian Redwood softwood known for its light, clean appearance that deepens in colour over time. Every gate is pressure treated to protect it from rot, decay, and insects, so it’s ready to stand up to the elements as soon as it’s installed. For the best finish and longevity, we recommend giving it a yearly coat of UV-protection oil.

When you’re ready to order, simply choose the width, height, and which side you’d like the larger gate to hang from. To make installation even easier, we’ve handpicked a selection of ironwork and posts that match perfectly. If you’re unsure about sizing, our measuring guide will walk you through it and if you need something made to measure, we also offer bespoke sizes.

FAQs
Product
What are 3/4 split gates?

The 3/4 split gate consists of two leafs, where one leaf is typically wider than the other. The wider panel usually occupies 3/4 of the total width of the gate, while the narrower panel occupies 1/4. This design allows for a more versatile and practical opening mechanism, often used in residential or commercial properties for quick and easy pedestrian access.

Do your gates arrive fully assembled?

Yes! Our gates arrive fully assembled at your doorstep, so no construction is needed!

Are your Croyde Mortise & Tenon T&G 3/4 Split Entrance Gate Pair pressure-treated?

Our Croyde Mortise & Tenon T&G Entrance Gate Pair are fully green pressure-treated to prevent against rot and decay.

Are your gates in stock?

What timber are your 3/4 Split Croyde Mortise & Tenon T&G Entrance Gates made from?

Aftercare and Maintenance
Can I paint my gates?

You can! You can only use water-based paint on our gates, however, and you will need to ensure the gatel is as dry as possible before painting. We do recommend applying UV protection to the gate prior to painting also.

What maintenance is required?

We highly recommend treating your gate at least every 6 months with Osmo Oil, to protect your gates against the elements and against decay, as well as discolouration. We also recommend checking your gates every so often and removing any built-up dirt and grime.

How do I prevent warping/bowing?

We have made a dedicated page with tips and tricks on how to prevent warping and bowing. Please see here: https://www.ruby-group.co.uk/pages/why-do-gates-warp
