How To Measure: Field Gates
Take 3 measurements between the posts. Across the top, middle and bottom. Make note of the smallest measurement.
The reductions you need to make depend on the style of field gate you have and how you are going to mount the hinges; on the back of the posts or in-between them.
Rear of the Post...
As the hinges are mounted on the back of the post you do not need to reduce any size from your lowest measurement. The gate will open inwards towards property.
Between the Posts...
The hinges are mounted to the inner face of the posts. This allows the gate to open both ways.
Reduce 140mm (approx. 5 1/2″) from your lowest measurement.
