Hardwood Bench Slats | Garden & Patio

It may be that you are building yourself a new bench, or just providing your existing bench with some TLC and maintenance work and a new slat is needed. Here at Ruby, we provide 3 different hardwood materials of bench slats that will implement a fantastic looking modern bench. These include Oak, Iroko and Sapele. All three offer different tones, grains, and properties but all look superb when installed onto a wooden or metal framed bench. If your current bench needs repairing but is not a material that we can match, we would recommend keeping the frame but removing all your current bench slats and replacing them with one of the three different hardwood slats that we offer. Not only do they look great but will completely change your bench and make it look brand new again. On the other hand, it may be that you are looking for a new bench altogether so be sure to check out our wide range of garden benches also.

To begin with, our Oak bench slats are a popular choice and match a lot of other timber species colours and tones making them perfect for when repairing your existing bench. The species of Oak is a vigorous, durable material that will last for many, many years and help to create an enduring and stable bench. Oak provides a contemporary and natural feel that will fit into any household’s design. Next, we have Iroko bench slats which are a yellow/ brownish colour and turning darker throughout its long lifetime, whilst also being resistant to rot and insect attacks. A well established and long-lasting timber species that derives from tropical Africa with extremely hardwearing properties, it makes for the perfect bench slat. Finally, we have Iroko bench slats, and like the other hardwoods, it’s incredibly hard and durable whilst being resistant to rot and insect attacks. Many would suggest that Iroko is the perfect material for garden furniture because of the final finish it gives and the exceedingly long-lasting properties allowing you to enjoy it for many years to come. Starting with yellow tones and over time, turning to a darker, golden brown colour.

All three of these hardwoods make very suitable options that will improve the design of your bench and help to make a stable structure that will withstand large amounts of wear. It’s very much down to the individual and what they prefer. If you have any more questions or queries, don’t hesitate to contact our sales team on 01409231763 and they will be happy to help.
