What are 3/4 split gates?

The 3/4 split gate consists of two leafs, where one leaf is typically wider than the other. The wider panel usually occupies 3/4 of the total width of the gate, while the narrower panel occupies 1/4. Our gates do not arrive with the hinges and posts, these will need to be purchased seperately. You can find these on our website, or when adding the gate to your basket as 'Get extras for your product'.

Aftercare and Maintenance
Can I paint my gates?

You can! You can only use water-based paint on our gates, however, and you will need to ensure the gatel is as dry as possible before painting. We do recommend applying UV protection to the gate prior to painting also.

What maintenance is required?

We highly recommend treating your gate at least every 6 months with Osmo Oil, to protect your gates against the elements and against decay, as well as discolouration. We also recommend checking your gates every so often and removing any built-up dirt and grime.

How do I prevent warping/bowing?

How long do your Cottage Mortise and Tenon 3/4 Split T&G Entrance Gate Pair last?
