T&G cladding, or Tongue and Groove cladding, is a type of wood that fit together edge to edge using a specific joint. Each piece of wood (or board) has a protruding "tongue" on one side and a corresponding "groove" on the opposite side. When installed, the tongue of one board fits snugly into the groove of the adjacent board. This design creates a tight, seamless join that hides the nails or fasteners, resulting in a clean and attractive finish.
We highly recommend treating your cladding, especially when used externally, with UV Protection to prevent the timber against the elements (which long-term expose to untreated can cause twists and shakes). Osmo Oil is highly reccomended to treat your timber, having tried and tested this ourselves. Treatment once every year should protect your cladding - if you're signed up to our emails, you will receive a yearly reminder of this! - however we do recommend treating twice a year.
Our products are kiln-dried, however due to transportation and storage we cannot guarantee our timber will arrive completely dry.
Installing yourself and need some advice? We have created an Install Guide, with tips and tricks from experts in the industry, to guide you through the process of installing your cladding. You can find the guide here.
Whilst you could use our T&G Cedar Cladding internally, we would recommend only using this cladding externally.
You will need our Stainless Steel nails, which you can find here.
